Introducing the all-new Icon HD to the market, Mares is bringing state-of-the-art consumer
electronics technology to the underwater world. Flat screen televisions, cell phones, PDAs, notebook computers, all use an LCD display, the same technology that Mares is using for the Icon HD screen.

Recently, Mares has expanded its line of diving computers exponentially, proving that we are a reliable manufacturer striving to achieve uncontested leadership in the market.
Results have been excellent, but we wanted something more: a product that could launch Mares dive computers to the apex of innovation and research. This is the vision that led us to the Icon HD, the first dive computer with a true full color display.
The goal at Mares was to bring state-of-the-art consumer electronics technology to the world of diving. The information that Icon HD provides on its large color display (QVGA 320x240 pixels) is easy and immediate
to read, and continuously updated.
The readability is unprecedented, thanks to the combination of superior contrast offered by using color and large characters.
During the dive, in addition to a classic arrangement of information, Icon HD also allows you to switch to a graphic representation of the dive profile in real time: as soon as the dive begins, a graph starts plotting your depth as a function of time with a continuous line. Also in the classic number-based type of display, Icon HD goes well beyond the traditional information: for instance, a split window lists all stops required to finish the dive correctly (i.e. deep stops, decompression stops, safety stop), each with its corresponding depth and duration. One of the most innovative features of Icon HD is the new map function: the computer memory allows you to store images, photos as well as digital maps of dive sites, which you can then call up on the display during the dive in order
to orient yourself.
And you don’t even need to purchase a special PC interface for all this, because Icon HD includes a dedicated PC
interface already, used also for charging the battery pack. And it doesn’t end here: Icon HD also features a full-tilt digital compass which is incredibly easy to use.
