Marine conservation courses

We are committed to marine conservation, which is why we decided to collaborate with Conservation Diver, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering divers and local managers around the world to protect marine ecosystems.

Understand our ecosystem

Ecological Monitoring Program

This course is specifically designed for the temperate waters of the Mediterranean, following internationally recognized protocols.

Through it, you will gain practical experience identifying key indicator species of fish and invertebrates.

By combining this data with information on substrate composition, water quality, turbidity, and temperature, your observations will help you better understand the health and resilience of marine ecosystems in the face of climatic and human pressures.

Four lectures and five dives will change your view of our oceans.

Seagrass Ecology and monitoring

This course aims to equip participants from diverse backgrounds with the knowledge and skills necessary to drive meaningful action for marine conservation.

The Balearic Islands are home to some of the largest and oldest posidonia meadows in the world, with specimens of Posidonia oceanica dating back more than 200,000 years.

These underwater ecosystems provide essential habitats for marine life, protect coastlines from erosion, and store large amounts of carbon.

However, these vital ecosystems are in rapid decline, having lost 34% in the last 50 years due to climate change, invasive species, and human activities such as coastal development and fishing.

Our course focuses on monitoring the density and coverage of posidonia meadows around Mallorca, contributing to conservation efforts and promoting their protection.

Two theoretical lectures and three dives will help you understand the importance of these ecosystems.

Leave a legacy for future generations!
